Update – July 2010

Thursday, July 29th, 2010
I arrived home at 2:00 AM on Tuesday morning after spending a week in Zacatecas, Mexico. It was a great time with Chuy, his family and the church. I officiated the wedding for Chuy’s son, Isaac, to Mili - all in Spanish. This morning, Thursday July 29, I went for an echo-cardiogram of my heart. My cardiologist will receive the report before I meet with him next Tuesday, August 3. I continue to go to cardio-physical therapy and/or walk everyday, without fail, even when I was in Zacatecas. I, also, have remained on the strict diet, helped by my hosts in Mexico. I have only six more sessions of physical therapy, which has helped me get back into shape. Kathy is thankful that I can’t say, “Round is a shape, any longer.”
Once I have met with my cardiologist next week, I will make some further decisions regarding travel. I have two trips to Michigan planned between now and the end of the year, one of which will be to attend our family reunion near Lansing August 13-15. The second trip to Michigan will begin on September 30 as Kathy and I will be attending a conference with Dan Wolfe and Charles Simpson at Gull Lake Bible Camp. I will plan to make a swing around the state at that time to visit the related families in Pinckney, Gaylord and Benton Harbor. I will end the trip officiating a wedding for one of my nephews.
In addition to these trips, Kathy and I will be vacationing in Florida the first couple of weeks of September. Later this year, in October I will be on the West Coast in Washington state to attend Bradley Stuart’s wedding with Sue Molitor, and in December Kathy and I will attend one of our nephew’s wedding in southern California.
The annual Harvest Men’s Retreat will be held the weekend of August 27 – 29, if any of you are interested. This is a campout held on thirty acres with great facilities owned by Sean’s father-in-law Ralph Carder. Please let me know if you are planning to attend, so I can help you with arrangements. Our theme for this year is to emphasize evangelism. We entitled it: “Being Who We Are, Where They Are.”
